"I used to live there..."

When you think back on your life, or even reflect upon your current situation, at what point do you say "I used to live there?" Is it a specific amount of time spent in a city/area? Do you need a job or school there? Can you be on an extended vacation to an area and say you lived there?

Subjective question, but curious to what you might think? I was talking about this with some friends about my past deployments with military, and whether or not I "lived" in cities I was sent to."
