Neither medication nor a visit to the doctor was necessary. I no longer had an infection, and as it turned out it was not a matter of there being any swelling but rather liquid retention, as stated above.
I also wanted to take this opportunity to comment on the responses I received to the original entry. The fact is that you all have a choice. When you read an entry and are unclear on some parts you can ask questions of the original poster, for example what my reason was for taking aspirin on a regular basis, or my reason for not taking the antibiotics for the full 7 days. Additionally, if you feel like you understand a point but disagree with it, you can state that respectfully and explain why.
Or, you can respond by saying that I'm so stupid that it would be better if I died, that I'm going to create a super-infection and kill other people and therefore am an asshole, and that I'm going to die myself but not before permanently losing my hearing first. That I'm idiotic, fuck natural medicine, and I'm going to end up in a hospital where I may continue updating if they have wifi.
The fact is, with the exception of 2 or 3, I found almost none of the 40+ comments I receieved to be helpful. My assessment is that some of the information they contained was accurate, and some was not. But even with the accurate information, the way in which the vast majority of it was presented made it unhelpful because it destroyed my ability to confide in it.
What would be helpful would be to share information in a respectful way. In that spirit, what I discovered in my investigation of the hearing problems I was having, with the help of my partner, some friends, some books, the internet, trial and error and trusting my natural instincts and ability to take primary responsibilty for my own health and well-being ... well, I would be happy to share that with anyone who wants to learn more about the human ear, how it works, and how to treat some types of ear problems. If you are capable of interacting with me with respect, you can send me a private message and I will respond.
Which brings me to the actual QUESTIONS for this post, which are as follows:
*Do you think that having respect for other people is important? *Do you believe that when you disrespect another person, you also disrespect yourself at the same time? *Are you capable of respecting other people at all times? If not, why not?
This post will serve as a good mirror. Your answers will reflect who you are.
