We use Google calendar to schedule appointments where I work. I share my calendar with two other people, and have been tasked with finding an alert system to remind of us upcoming client birthdays in time for us to send them a card in the mail. For various reasons, my boss (with whom I share the calendar) wants an actual alert tone to sound (he doesn't like the email reminders or desktop pop-ups). I considered using Outlook's calendar instead since it will actually sound a little alarm, but as far as I can tell, there's no way to set those alerts and share them-- each of us would have to individually go through and set desired alerts for every single client's birthday. Ugh.

Is there a better calendar system for me to use to do this, or some way to make Google do what I want it to do?

dk/dc/this is so boring: what are your plans this weekend?
