Going back to school to become a doctor at 30?

TQC - I'll be turning 30 this year, and I'm considering going back to school to become a Doctor/Researcher. I've had a chronic pain condition for the past 10 years and there's not a lot of research in this field. Doctor's don't know what causes it, or how to treat it. I'm considering going back to school and focusing on researching this condition.

Honestly, is this a good or bad idea? What do I need to consider? I know I still need to make a living and support myself, so I'd probably need to take night classes, or get a scholarship or something. I already have my Bachelor's degree in business, so would I start with a Master's degree, or would I need to get a Bachelor's again? I have a solid career right now and I make decent money, but this condition is so... depressing and frustrating, that I feel like I want to find a way to help others with it.
