When you were little, did you believe in Santa?
How old were you when you found out he wasn't real? How'd you find out?

I was about 7. In my class we had to find a current event story in the newspaper and write about it. We didn't have a newspaper that week, so my mom handed me some parenting magazine. I was looking through it and saw an ad for writing a letter to Santa - the address was my cross street. I was very bothered that Santa was living in San Francisco and asked my mom to tell me the truth. She floundered around and told me he was real. I then asked my dad who told me Santa was a spirit and he might not be real, but we believe and celebrate to keep the spirit alive. I then walked up to my mom with my hands on my hips and yelled, "YOU LIED TO ME!" They then swore me to secrecy so my little brother wouldn't find out and told me Santa would still bring me presents as long as my brother believed. Needless to say, my brother was in 6th grade before he found out.
