Have you ever taken a watch in for adjustment somewhere different from where you purchased it? Where did you get it done? How much did it cost?

Have you ever adjusted a watch yourself? How did you do it?

I bought a watch at Target recently and it is really huge on me. (If I let my hand hang limp, the watch slides right off). I can see there are removable links (with the little arrows) in the band, so it's clearly possible to adjust, but I don't know where to go to get it done. Target doesn't have a jewelry center as far as I can tell and I don't know what stores will work on a watch they didn't sell.

I've heard I could do it myself with a a jeweler's screwdriver, but I'm skeptical of buying one (I don't have one small enough already in my toolbox) just for this since I doubt I would use it very often, but would it actually be more cost-effective? What about user-friendly?

The watch was inexpensive but I'd rather pay a little extra and actually be able to enjoy it than have wasted the money something I can't really use.
