The teens who live in the apartment above me have been taking advantage of their dad being out of town for the last few weeks by constantly having friends over and smoking a lot of weed. This only bothers me when they do it on their balcony and the smell drifts down into my own apartment--which is every day, especially when the weather's nice and I have my patio door open. I've said something a time or two about how they're messing up my enjoyment of the fresh air, but been laughed off.
Today they almost lit the bush in front of my patio on fire when they dropped a still-lit blunt onto it and didn't notice. I only noticed because I'm home, and the weed-smell turned into a weird, earthy campfire-smell. They giggled when I shouted at them to look what they did.
I really want to call their dad to tell him what's up. Is that tattling, or the logical consequence of being a careless teenager?
