What are your favorite mystery, thriller or horror books, any and all subgenres? Something you would describe as interesting, exciting or compelling. Light and fluffy or heavier. I'm trying a genre shift after years of classics, historical fiction, fantasy and romance. Nothing really works for me and bores me to tears. I find myself abandoning most of the books I start and I thought maybe I need something new. I tried Lee Child, his prose killed me with how clipped it was. John Grisham's The Firm was boring and I didn't care. Stieg Larsson also wasn't really my cuppa in written form. I can't pick my books, maybe someone else can.
What do people think of Dean Koontz, btw? (I read he donated money to Mott Romney's campaign?... I'm willing to put that aside if his books don't show political leanings)
