Hey TQC, do any of you have a friend who seems to constantly need validation around everything? How do you handle them?

I have a new friend who is quite young (18), and she's funny and friendly, and generally a good person, but she always seems to be looking for praise or validation, and asking questions to sort of wheedle it out of the people she's with. I'm starting to find it a bit tiring - I'd rather be talking about what we're doing, or learning more about her as a person, but instead, I find myself being asked to constantly affirm her. Any ideas for ways to shift the conversation? Any stories about how you've handled something similar?

Do you have a particular co-worker that you really love? Will you tell me about them?

What's your most favorite part of your job? Will you tell me a little bit about it?
