I teach high school math, and am currently thinking of what to give them to start the year next year.

What else goes on this list that I'm missing? Or what would you change?

Teacher Responsibilities:
-Teach the material to the best of my abilities.
-Be organized!
-Turn back homework and tests in a reasonable amount of time.
-Be available outside of class to help students.

Student Responsibilities:
-Be in class ON TIME everyday and prepared with the necessary materials.
-Complete and turn in homework assignments.
-Take notes in class. If it goes on the board, it should be in your notes.
-Ask question either in class or outside of class if you don’t understand
-Be organized! Have both a folder and a notebook used JUST for math class.
-Bring in a note from your parent if you are absent.
-Get the notes before class when you are absent – that way you can follow along with today’s new material.
-Be respectful of others in the classroom.
-Make sure that cell phones are TURNED OFF (not put on silent) and PUT AWAY while in school.

Parent Responsibilities:
-Make sure that your child has the necessary materials for the school year.
-Make sure that your child is in school everyday.
-If your child is absent, write a note on the day they return.
-Check your child’s homework (edit: for doneness, not correctness) every night.
-Talk with the teacher on Back-to-School night and Report Card pickup. If you are not available at those times, make sure to call the teacher to check your child’s progress.
