I don't think it is creepy cause if you didn't want me to see it, you shouldn't have put it on the internet or added me as a Facebook friend. I will browse someone's pics kinda at random, or click through the wall. I don't go digging for any particular dirt, but I will check out an FB page for sure.
Sometimes I'll randomly think of someone from middle school and high school and see what they're up to. Or if I see a comment of someone I knew from my past comment on someone I'm still friends with I'll be curious and click around on their page. Most recently it was a girl from my volleyball team in hs that I was not at all friends with. But it was interesting to see that she'd recently gotten married (somewhere absolutely beautiful even though the theme was too hipstery for my taste) and is also expecting a baby sometime next year.
It's a little creepy I guess since now I know these important life things about her with no intention of friending her.
But as for people I'm already friends with on facebook I never go read stuff on their page because FB already has this annoying tendency to show me stuff on my newsfeed I don't care to know. Recently I've seemed to notice more often than ever before FB showing me comments from random people I'm not friends with to people I am friends with. Like, really FB? Why would I care about that at all?
I usually only look through someone's fb timeline if they've disappeared for a while and I'm worried, or if they're irritating me and I'm looking for a reason to defriend them. I used to check up on someone I had a falling out with just to see if maybe they've changed (because in the beginning what we had was good and if they ever get better I'd like to try again), but then they changed their privacy settings so I can't see anything.
I don't feel that it's creeping at all when it's someone that you've friended on fb. If one didn't want anyone to see what one posted, perhaps one shouldn't have posted it at all, right?
Not so much now that I'm not a student and I don't need things to help me procrastinate.
I mostly just look at photos. I rarely look at a wall unless I know they post interesting articles. I will admit that when my ex's roomate posts things I usually check the "likes" and I have no idea why. Like why does it matter if my ex is liking things? Why does it make me feel better? Idk.
Ha, but seriously though, I don't think it's creeping to look at people's pages in depth. People post information (photos, status updates, etc.) for their friend's (list's) consumption, so I don't see anything wrong with being curious and examining their page in depth on occasion, provided it doesn't become a compulsive behavior.
