Say you're leaving the country for a year in 2 and a half months. You meet pretty much the perfect guy in your hometown. What would TQC do?

Given that it's pretty much too late for me, if I wanted to cook a healthy (he's a fitness instructor) but impressive meal for said guy, what should I cook?

You enjoy his company for 2.5 months, don't stay together while abroad but do stay in touch, reassess when you return next year but don't hold any expectations.

Idk, a fancy entree salad with lots of interesting ingredients/toppings?

I probably wouldn't pursue anything too serious for the moment, just enjoy it as a short-term relationship but try keeping in touch with him as a friend. Then if hes still available when I'm back home Id see where it goes. I just think it would be too early in the relationship to consider the long distance thing.

enjoy your time with him for now, keep in contact with him while you are gone and just see what happens. Who knows, maybe when you get back you'll both be single and end up together.

cedar plank salmon is really easy to make but super delicious, if you guys like salmon.

1. The brain lies and tells us things like "perfect", but only when we are about to leave town (and we don't really want to go, but the family is forcing the trip in subtle ways that make it look and seem like a good idea and down playing the negative...sound familiar ?) and people are only "perfect" because we don't know the negative secrets as we all just talk about things we have in common at first and it's called New Relationship Euphoria (NRE).

2. Pan fried salmon and a dark green salad with shredded carrots and healthy salad dressing.

Absolutely do not give up your trip for this guy, because what if you do, and then it doesn't work out? It'll be the greatest disappointment.
