I'm trying to get on the subway. There are four open portals...but one is blocked by a lady with a stroller and her group. The other three portals have a line of people queing up to use them. The group leader (her husband??) is talking to the subway attendant and she doesn't look like she'll be moving anytime soon.|
Is it rude for me to slide past her to use the portal? Is she being rude to block it? Is she being stupid? Am I being arrogant?
WHAT ARE YOU LOOKIN AT LADY???????
I'd just say excuse me and slide past her. She's a little rude for blocking the portal if she's not going through it right away. Her group should step to the side if they're getting directions, asking for assistance, etc. to let others go through.
She's being rude to block it, though she might be distracted and not realize it. I'd say "Excuse me" loudly and push past.
wasn't sure what language she spoke...but she knew for sure she wasn't in the right
Slide past her. If she gives you rude eyes give her rude eyes right back. That's practically flirting in the subway world.
Yes, its rude to just push in and slide past her. Yes, she is rude by blocking it. No, she is, in my best guess, not being stupid, she is probably doing what she believes is best for everyone--most people do think about everyone else around them. It may be that unfortunately the only area she can fit is in this portal area.
I would say excuse me, give her (and her crew) the opportunity to adjust/move. If she didnt within 10 seconds, I would then briefly slide through. This is provided I would not knock or seriously jar the stroller. I am a firm believer in speaking up.
Goddamnit i didnt notice this was you, forget all of that and just flip the stroller.

10 seconds??? thats an ETERNITY!!!!
I would NOT flip the stroller.
Why punish an innocent child because the mother is a dolt?
I merely BUMPED the stroller as I brusquely swept past in a state of indignant rage
Yes, she's being rude to block it. If you need to ask a question that's going to take longer than a few seconds, move out of the way.
nope, she's the rude one. you don't block entrances/exits/or tops/bottoms of escalators, you're not a ghost, people need to use those things and you're not so special.
i've used elbows plenty of times to get people to move the fuck out of my way to get on/off the subway/train.
Not rude. I'd do the same.
