[nightmer]
I'm looking to find a song for a wedding video for my friends.  Unfortunately, of the music I know they like, I can't find anything particularly romantic.  They like things like Flogging Molly, Rasputina, Florence and the Machine, Murder By Death, Ha Ha Tonka, The Decemberists, etc.  I don't need something super sappy or about relationships at all, just wedding appropriate!

Any suggestions?

When I was a member of weddingplans, all the "alt" couples chose Such Great Heights by The Postal Service/Iron and Wine or The Luckiest by Ben Folds as their first dance song.

There's really nothing by Florence and the Machine that would work? Does it need to be slow?

Idk what you'd consider them, but I like Supergrass.

Decemberists should have a lot of songs! How long? I really like "Angel, Won't You Call Me?" It's romantic and really simple. Otherwise there are other songs, too.

This is what I was going to say, or "Of Angels and Angles."

I like that one, too, but it's so short!

Try Ingrid Michaelson (Keep Warm, How We Love, Snowfall), lalagray (Cerebellum, Big Brown Box), A Fine Frenzy (You Picked Me, Now Is The Start), The Civil Wars (Poison & Wine, I've Got This Friend), and Regina Spektor (Folding Chair, The Calculation, Another Town).

Also, "Paper Cup" by Heather Nova, "Summer Sun" by Jukebox the Ghost, "I Never" by Rilo Kiley.

No Children by The Mountain Goats.

Bahaha, yes! Pretty much anything from the Tallahassee album, if you're a cynic.

True facts: We played The Mountain Goats at our wedding. We actually booked them to play in person, but had to change our date and venue at the last minute.

I walked down the aisle to Nick Drake's Time Has Told Me.

Love Ha Ha Tonka!

I'm really into Jack and the Bear, The Lumineers, King Charles, Mumford & Sons, Ed Sheeran

they all have some really beautiful lovely songs.. I just can't think of them right now :)
