If you've been to several bachelorette parties, what made the memorable ones memorable?

I'm maid of honor for a wedding in June. I want to start brainstorming. The bride isn't a crazy party girl and has mentioned wanting something lower-key and "classier" than some other bachelorette parties tend to be.

Spa day/night, or see if there's a vineyard around you that offers tours and tastings.

my friend just hosted a bachelorette party and the girl was very much like your friend--not a big partier, wanted classy--so they went and had drinks at the sundial and did an evening tour of the botanical gardens. it was p cool sounding, even if not my style

I'm in Georgia as well! When I read "sundial" and "botanical garden" a bell immediately went off :)

I loved my bachelorette/bridal shower. It was a total surprise. One of my friends asked me over to help her with some stuff and everyone popped out It was so sweet. My friend who hosted BBQ'ed and everyone else brought a dish. We had a lot of good wine but no one got drunk. It was just us girls. No tacky dirty games or strippers. We did play games like apples to apples. Most of us spent the night at my friend's house (my husband to be packed me a bag) and we all went out to breakfast the next morning. It was perfect IMO just like the slumber parties we used to have when we were kids/teens. I did have another bridal shower but it wasn't anywhere as fun.

Mani/pedis/hair done, then go for the classy version of male strippers and have a (private) group lesson at a ballroom dance studio. They'll provide the men! *g* Then a nice dinner afterward.

We call them hen parties, and one of my friends expressed a desire to spend hers with hens, so we all went for a picnic on a farm. It was great! Spa days are also a popular choice that gets away from the sleazy/trashy element.

I'd just go for a manicure/pedicure/spa day and then a nice dinner. Maybe a wine tasting.

my sister was the same way - we ended up going to a local vineyard, getting a private tour of the place, plus drinking lots of wine!

the bridesmaids were all from far out of town, so we just did this the night before the wedding. if wed had everyone in town a day earlier we kicked around the idea of high tea, then going to a paint-your-own-pottery place. otherwise we talked about doing a manicure/pedicure day with wine tastings after, but the spa stuff got nixed as pretty expensive.

I hate the 'typical' bachelorette parties.. I'm not at all into drinking/bars/strippers

I'd probably go with some sort of spa thing...getting nails done, or having a fancy lunch at a very nice restaurant.
