What's the last ridiculous coincidence that happened to you?

I went to a bar tonight because a friend wanted to talk/hang out. While we were there she saw some guys at another table that were cute and wearing our alma mater's hat, so she went to hit on them and ask if they went there. She came back and a few minutes later she was like "Is that your ex?" and we realized she had just talked to my ex's friends so we booked it out of there and laughed the whole way home. Typing this out it doesn't sound as funny lol, but it was hilarious in the moment.

The morning after my wife found out she was having twins, before we'd told anyone, I was cracking some eggs to make breakfast. Crack an egg: double yolk. I ran screaming to her, we hooted and hollered, I went back to making breakfast. Crack an egg: another double yolk. This had never happened before and has never happened since; either it was total mass (well, 2 person) hysteria, or a hell of a coincidence.

Sometimes they sell double yolk egg by the carton. I bought some by mistake once and was so confused when they ALL had double yolks.. and I don't eat the yolk so I felt ripped off haha. That's a cute coincidence.

This wasn't mine, but a kid I know was getting ready to go on trial for a drunk driving related accident. Right before his trial began he got a notice in the mail that he had been selected for jury duty. The trial? His own.

It wasn't recent at all, but my 'favorite' coincidence was when I found out my best friend from high school started dating a guy in university, who turned out to be my 4th grade little kid crush! Even more of a coincidence because I went to 4th grade in Austria and I was in Japan for high-school.

This was longer ago but I had an even stranger one about running into ex's friends. My husband is a really good/advanced rock climber. When we met, I was/am really into hiking and backpacking, but I hadn't done as much technical stuff, at least for a while. So it was our first rock climbing date and he was showing me the ropes, literally. I feel once, and somehow landed in a tree! So I'm there, clinging to the top of this tree trunk, swinging back and forth (still roped in--don't worry!) and the two other guys on that rock wall are laughing at me. But I managed to swing back and actually did decently on the rest of the climb, so I managed to earn some points back, I think. We were all chatting at the top, and then they are like "We know you!". They were friends of an ex from like five years before, which made my performance extra mortifying, and my now husband was oh-so-thrilled we were running into my ex's friends on an early date, although ultimately he thought it was funny, too.

I guess not too ridiculous at all but on Sunday I went to Dunkin' Donuts after work and the girl behind the counter was asking me where I worked/how money was/etc. She said she was curious about it.

Two days later my boyfriend went to Dunkin' Donuts after work to get me a bagel and when he got home he commented on how attractive that girl was and how it'd be great if she worked for us. So I said "No way, she was asking me about work on Sunday!" So I'm going to go in a night this week and let her know the GM would like her to come in for a job and she's hired for whatever position she wants.

Not totally ridiculous, but I live in Boston and was at a party last weekend and struck up a conversation with a guy there. Turns out he was visiting from a town in Colorado that's about 10 minutes away from my hometown, and he knows my mom kind of.

Not all that ridiculous, but for the past two weeks I kept praying I'd have a reason to get out of working on Christmas Eve. Well, sure enough I'm sick with a flu. Won't be working Christmas Eve, but I won't be enjoying Christmas Eve, either!

I also find it interesting when people I know in separate circles of friends all of the sudden add each other on Facebook and I can see that. This year I discovered that 3 different sets of people I know also know each other (and one guy I knew from high school started dating a friend of mine from university - which was kind of odd because it wasn't until they kept posting on each other's walls that I realized, "Wait, we all didn't go to school together, wth?"). LOL
