Anyone ever been to either Accra, Ghana or Costa Rica? Kind of weird combination, I know. If so, what did you think about them?|
I've been to Costa Rica..
Which parts/when/what did you do/how did you like it?
san jose, but took day trips all over. it was awesome.
I loved Costa Rica. Of all the Latin countries I've visited, that's the one I'd most want to live in. Great people, beautiful country. San Jose, which is high in the mountains, is like springtime all year long.
I've been to Costa Rica when I was on a 14 day cruise that went from CA to FL going to 2 stops in Mexico (Cabo San Lucas and Acapulco) Costa Rica, El Salvador, Panama, and Aruba and I loved Costa Rica! The very first village we went through on an excursion from the port up to the mountains was pretty sketchy but once we got past that the land was beautiful and we saw lots of wildlife we then made our way to a resort that was at the top of the mountain and swam through hot springs and the pool that had water slides and an in the pool bar and had an amazing meal. The only stop on that whole trip I could've completely done without was El Salvador since we didn't go anywhere that didn't have gang signs spray painted all over.
ooh did you go to Thermo Mania too? :D Your description of the hot springs park sounds just like the one I went to.
Damn, everyone's been to Costa Rica. Add me to the list though - it was a missions trip so we stayed in a small village at a church bunkhouse, but we did lots of cool things like ziplining, go to the beach, swim at a hot springs (the park was called Thermo Mania). I was in the Guanacaste region, if you wanted that info.
Oh also the volcanoes are really pretty and I'm sad I didn't get to actually visit them but the one I was closest to was Miravalles.

We honeymooned in CR, and really liked it; San Jose didn't appeal much, but we didn't spend much time there anyway. Get out into the smaller places and relax!
What didn't you like about San Juan?
It felt like there were a lot of desperate people there. I gather that a lot of immigrants from other Central American countries end up there looking for work, and that may well be the cause of what we were feeling.
I would love to go to either, but Ghana especially has been near the top of my list for years...
I lived in West Africa (Sierra Leone) for many years so I used to always visit Ghana and Accra. Ghana is absolutely beautiful. I am so in love with Africa
The plan is to start in San Juan, then bus all over the country in some kind of organized fashion. Perhaps even go to Panama. Maybe half/half city and beach/rainforest. I think we'll be there for 1-2 months in June/July.
I've been to Costa Rica.
I stayed in La Fortuna, near the Arenal Volcano. Gorgeous. LOVED the trip!
