For the past several weeks, all the bananas in every store I visit are like grass-green and they're barely ripe enough to eat a week after I buy them. Even bananas that appear less green are still gross inside, like they just got bruised while green but never ripened. For weeks! What's up with this?

I've noticed that the bananas are really green in the grocery lately - but they ripen up alright once I get them home. :/

I have no idea. The same kind of thing is happening to me with kiwis. :(

That's odd. I'm in Southern California and the bananas at the store look normal enough? They're just slightly green and are perfect in a day or two.

Yeah, that's what I'm used to, but I've been in three states in the last week and the bananas looked bad in all three (MO, IL, WI).

that's something I've always run into with bananas from certain stores. but I can always still find nice ones elsewhere, idk.

Usually some stores are better than other. But I mean Whole Foods, where the bananas are worth their weight in gold, also has green bananas lately. That and bell peppers that smell like mothballs.

Might be your location. I'm in the upper midwest and they've looked fine.

I'm also in the upper Midwest. Maybe the stores are just hiding the yellow bananas when they see me walking through the front door. They're like ERMAHGERD HERE COMES PIPERKI, HIDE THE BANANAS.

Same here, very green. But they ripen fine.

I noticed that too, but I only shop at one store so I thought I was just happening to get there when they had just stocked bananas :/ They still stay kind of greenish even when they turn yellow at home though.

Put them in a paper bag. Wait a day. Check ripeness. Repeat until they are the appropriate ripeness.
