I was looking for cake-decorating tips, and came across this site.

Have you ever baked one of those fancy-looking cakes? How did it go?

That's one of my hobbies--making awesome cakes. Mostly now it's for my kids' birthdays, but for awhile I did it just for fun and sent the results to work with my ex-husband.

It takes a lot of patience and makes a pretty epic mess. But it is SO MUCH FUN.

Do you have pictures of things you've made?

I've "decorated" cakes before but never fancy fondant or anything. I'm decent freehanding stuff so it's always been freehanded buttercream and more novelty things like people's faces. Still fun though. I want to try my hand at a fancy cake some time though. brb going through this website

I haven't. I like to bake tasty cakes and cupcakes though, and my next step is trying out some fancy decorating. :3
