I had my coworker (Tina) order take out for us at lunch today, at a newly renovated Pizzeria/Americanized-Italian-food place. Even though Tina had called to order beforehand, it took them over 45 minutes to get our orders. By the time I got back to work, I didn't have any time left to eat, and my order was wrong! On my next break I called the restaurant to advise them of the mistake and was offered to go pick up the correct order. I went right after work, and as I walked in, all the employees greeted me by "Tina." The manager came out immediately to introduce herself and offer an apology as she gave me my food and to let me know they have given me a $25 credit. I thanked her and left. I never corrected a single one of them when they called me by the wrong name. I don't plan to make that place a regular stop, so I didn't think it was necessary. Now I'm wondering if I should have?

If someone calls you by the wrong name, and you haven't corrected them the first few times, are you the kind of person who will correct them or just let them keep calling you the wrong name?

Care to share any stories regarding a particularly bad or memorable service you received?
