if you're not married, would you expect you and your SO to wear rings? just one of you? neither? would you mind sharing why?

i've always assumed that both members of a married couple wear their rings daily, but today found out only about half of the guys in my office wear theirs while they all said their wives wear their rings. i'm wondering how common/uncommon it is.
