Excluding when my husband and I were long distance, probably a month and a half. My husband got sick, I got sick, I got my period, life just got ridiculous for a while and neither of us felt like doing anything but sleeping and whining.
The process of stripping and dying hair blows out the follicles to first remove the pigments and then put other pigments in the hair. If your hair has already been chemically treated, it can, in the wrong hands, make your hair very brittle.
A fair amount, but treat your hair with TLC afterwards and it won't be too bad. Keep the heat styling to a minimum and use good conditioner. Wash every other day instead of daily if you can. I had my hair double-bleached and dyed every 4 weeks for awhile, and it took 5-6 months to completely fry it.
Holy crap, some people have good will power. A couple of years ago, I went on a 2-week backpacking trip, and by the time I got back home was feeling very...needy.
